Annual General Meeting Update

For those members unable to attend the  A.G.M. held on 27 March 2001 here are the main points:

Apologies

Received from Mark Butler and Joe Burrows.

Minutes

Proposed to be accepted by Sue Booth and seconded by John Ackrill.

President's Report

Mark was unable to attend because of illness, so Jane Carter delivered his report which extended thanks to all the committee for their work over the last year, with special regards to fundraising and preparing for the Lottery bid.  A very special thanks was extended to Sandra for all her work on applying for the Lottery grant.  He was pleased to report that the Mixed team had been promoted and that this year we would put two teams in to play.  The short tennis programme had really gone well and had been exceptionally well attended.

Treasurer's Report

A good year for fund raising.  Members were given a balance sheet to examine.

Election of Officers

President: Mark Butler
Treasurer: Cherril Ruston
Secretary: Leona Burrows
Membership Secretary: Sandra Mitcham
Development Officer: Jane Carter
Committee Members: Debbie Yates, John Fabisz, Len Pope, Graham Radley, Brian Northwood and Sue Booth

Club Constitution

Because of the Lottery bid, we needed a new constitution.  One had been prepared which was more user friendly.  The new constitution was read and discussed by members and amendments suggested.  It was then accepted unanimously subject to the amendments suggested being made.  Thanks to Sue Booth for her work on that document.
