Needingworth Tennis Club 

General Information

The tennis courts are located in the centre of the village, next to the Village Hall on Overcote Lane.  From St Ives, Overcote Lane is the second turning on the right after the garage, and the entrance to the Village Hall and playing fields is 200 yards up on the right.  The tennis courts are to the right of the car parking area.

There are two hard surface tennis courts available to members at present.  Members are issued with a key to the tennis courts and are asked to ensure the gate is locked upon departure.  The only restrictions to access are when League matches are being played and set organised club sessions.

When the new courts are opened on 8th September, one of the courts will be bookable to non-members on certain afternoons, at a charge of £3.50.  The same court will be available for booking by members at no cost. Details will follow.  Non-members may only play by invitation of members at a cost of £2.50 per session.

The main objectives of the tennis club at the moment are to:

Resite the tennis courts further up the playing field area - achieved
Increase the number of tennis courts to three - achieved
Obtain Lottery and other funding to enable this - achieved
Increase the opportunities for improvement at both Junior and Senior level
Continue to play competitive tennis within the Hunts League - achieved
Improve facilities for all members
Keep membership fees as low as possible
Have as many fun tennis playing sessions as possible
